Baby Girl's 1st Birthday

Today was our little Baby Girl's 1st birthday. Really it was more of a birthday weekend, and it was nice.

My mom and my youngest sister came down from California on Friday night for Baby Girl's birthday and they spent the weekend with us. Here's the little dress my sister made for her:

Here's Grandma playing hide-and-seek with her; Baby Girl loved it!

We traveled an hour south to see my aunt and uncle and two of my cousins; we had a good time, and Baby Girl liked her walking-on-grass experience (we don't let her walk on the grass barefoot at our apartment because people let their dogs pee and poop on the grass.

And here are a few pictures of her little birthday party tonight.
The decorations, thanks to my mother and sister:

We didn't have a cake for Baby Girl; too much sugar. We instead went with a pumpkin pie. It's not as sweet and we knew it would be very easy for her to eat. Plus we like pumpkin pie :) Those candles are in the shape of a 1, courtesy of Mc (she wasn't too keen on the fire).

She started off slowly, testing out her pie slice:

And she ended up like this:

This is the messiest she's ever been. She ate a fair amount and she liked the feel of it squished in her hands. It was funny.

Once she was cleaned up and I had come back from taking my mother and sister to the airport, we opened her gift from two of our friends: a cute little dress and a fun puzzle-type thing. It was very nice of them, and she'll get good use out of both.

A very low-key birthday which is how I like them, but it was a birthday with people who love her. Both her Uncle B and Uncle D (my brothers) called today to wish her a happy birthday; she's their only niece on our side of the family so far and it's nice that they remembered (and it was nice for me talking with them as well). :) Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

5-day-later P.S. We got a package from Nana and Papy who sent a pretty little card and an adorable dress. It's still a little big for her but that means she'll have plenty of time to wear it!

I don't know what face she's making there, but it's funny :) Thanks, Nana!

Happy Birthday Morgan! She is so stinkin' cute! That's awesome that your Mom came out for the birthday.

I can't believe that she is walking already! She is getting so big so fast!

Yay! Happy birthday Morgan! Her face is already starting to look so much more grown up. I think pie was a fun choice.

So cute! I wish I could have given Damon something with less sugar, but Anthon insisted that he needed cake for his first birthday.
